How to Join Google’s Pixel Superfans Community

If you’ve ever looked up from your Pixel phone and thought, “someone should create a secret club of Pixel fans where we get to wear cloaks and stuff,” good news! Google has such a club. It’s called Pixel Superfans, where cloaks are optional. Let’s take a closer look.

What Is Pixel Superfans?

Pixel Superfans is a private community of diehard Pixel owners. These are the types of people that tweet about the latest Pixel-related news and post their own thoughts and impressions about their own Pixel devices as a hobby. They ooze passion, and you can feel it in their content.

These are the types of people that Pixel Superfans was made for. According to Google:

“We were inspired to create this program because we know many of you love Pixel as much as we do, and we wanted to create a space where we could get to know each other.”

If you fancy yourself a Pixel brand advocate and want to interact with other like-minded fans, consider vying for membership. You may even get paid for spreading the word about everything Pixel. But first, let’s look at how to become a Pixel Superfans member.

How to Become a Pixel Superfans Member

As of March 2023, Pixel Superfans membership is only eligible to US residents. If you live in the United States and want to join, visit the Pixel Superfans survey page. Fill out information such as your name, mailing address, and birthday.

You’ll also need to fill out info such as “what an ideal day in your life looks like,” your social handles, the Google products you currently use, and more.

You must mention if you’re a government employee or a member of the press—checking either disqualifies you from membership. You can also be disqualified for other reasons, from working at a public university to belonging to a royal family. The survey page has all the details about who can join and who isn’t eligible.

Joining comes with its perks. One of those is access to a private Superfan Facebook group for those who still haven’t quit Facebook for good. You also get access to exclusive in-person and virtual events like Q&A sessions with teams building the devices that keep fans salivating.

Members also gain access to merch, swag, and opportunities to try upcoming products and features. This happened in March 2023 when Pixel Superfans were among the first to try Google’s experimental conversational AI, Bard. Members also get to voice their opinion on the current state of Pixel devices, what they would like to see in future devices, and more.

As a member, you may also get invited to join the Google Store referral program. Android Police reported in November 2022 that once you join the referral program, you can send a code to a buddy in the market for hot deals on Pixel phones.

When they use the code on an eligible model at checkout (in November 2022, the eligible devices were the Pixel 6a, Pixel 7, and Pixel 7 Pro), both of you will get $100 and exclusive Pixel Superfans swag! Pixel Superfans can do this up to 10 times, netting them a cool $1000.

Membership is always free. You can engage as little or often as you please. If you are invited to a live event, know that Google won’t pay for travel and other accommodations. It notes on the survey page that they will be clear if you are financially obligated for any perks or invitations.

Keep in mind that Google has a rule regarding posting about perks on social media. It states that you must use the hashtag #GiftsFromGoogle on every post and may need to mention your relationship with Google.

Pixel Superfans: The Ultimate Stan for Superfans

Pixel Superfans get to show off upcoming features few people have access to while wearing a stylish “Pixel Superfan” baseball cap. Let the world know that you’ve bent the ears of engineering and design teams at Google and told them what you really think about Pixel devices. You’re bound to impress someone.

If you’re the type of person that wears the brands they love on their shirt sleeve and advocate for them just for fun, Google wants you. And you want Google. Consider a membership to Pixel Superfans, and go—be among your people!
