Free art class for seniors at St. Francis Music Center – Brainerd Dispatch
LITTLE FALLS — St. Francis Music Center is offering “Busy Birds,” a mixed media art class for seniors 55 and older.
The class is free for all participants. No experience is necessary, just a desire to create and have fun in a relaxed atmosphere. Taught by local artist Judith Hecht, the class will use a variety of art techniques to create a busy bird canvas that is unique to each participant.
Class 1 will be 9 a.m. to noon June 24. Class 2 will be 5-8 p.m. June 24. Participants will be able to complete one or two canvases, meet new people and express their creativity in just three hours’ time.
Classes are at St. Francis Music Center on the campus of the Franciscan Sisters of Little Falls. Class size is limited. Registration is required by calling St. Francis Music Center at 320-632-0637.
These activities are made possible by a grant provided by the Minnesota State Arts Board, through an appropriation by the Minnesota State Legislature from the Minnesota Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund with funds from the vote of the people of Minnesota on Nov. 4, 2008, and a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts.
The St. Francis Music Center is a sponsored ministry of the Franciscan Sisters of Little Falls.
