Magic Mountain Summer Camps

What: Awakening children to the infinite joy of music, storytelling, and nature.



“Songs and Seeds for the Garden” is the perfect place to sing, get your hands dirty, learn to prepare soil, activate seeds, and identify herbs with young explorers ages 4 – 12. Nature crafts, music and theater based on our Magic Mountain Curriculum is guided by Diana Alcantara and Lisa Dancing-Light, Certified Magic Mountain Instructors from 9am – 3pm at the Carbondale Recreation Center. Learn About Plants: Botany Basics

What: Learn about plant systems in the MCWC watershed: plant identification, classification (botany), riparian habitats, and invasive species. Be ready for a “plant walk” of the Lions Pond area at the River Stop to identify and discuss Russian Olive, cheatgrass, and Canadian Thistle after exploring the display of Russian Olive and Tamarisk in the River Stop. The class is designed for youth 8 years old and up. Class size is limited to 10 kids.

When: 1-2 p.m. Wednesday, July 10

Where: CDOT Rest Area at 200 Lion’s Park Circle in Rifle

Spring Awakening: Summer Stock 2024

What: Spring Awakening explores the journey from adolescence to adulthood with a poignancy and passion that is illuminating and unforgettable. The landmark musical is an electrifying fusion of morality, sexuality and rock and roll that is exhilarating audiences across the nation like no other musical in years.

Note: This production is rated R for language, adult content, sexual situations  and suicide. Please familiarize yourself with the material before purchasing a ticket. No refunds will be issued for content.

Carbondale Clay Center Presents: Clay and Moonlight

What: This new CCC fundraiser features culinary delights by Mark Fischer, handmade plates by celebrated ceramicists Alleghany Meadows and Sam Harvey, and a performance from Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream by Thunder River Theater, and aerialists from Mt Cirque Entertainment. Additionally, a paddle raise and silent auction will take place to support CCC’s mission and community programming.

When: 6-9:30 p.m. Saturday, July 13
