OU Daily elects leadership positions for 2025-26 school year | News

OU Daily elected Anusha Fathepure as fall-spring editor-in-chief, Tristen Lewis as fall-spring marketing manager and DiLani Carroll as fall sales manager for the 2025-26 academic year.

Fathepure is a journalism and English junior and the current news managing editor. She joined OU Daily as a freshman in August 2022 on the news desk, where she’s worked for the past three years.

During her time as news managing editor, Fathepure has helped develop comprehensive election coverage, further efforts in city reporting and strengthen campus relationships. Building off OU Daily’s success over the past year with national news reporting from Washington, D.C., Fathepure hopes to continue a relationship between Gaylord College and OU Daily.

Students pay about $14 in annual fees that support the Daily. If you are not a student and find value in our work, please match or exceed that if you can.

“Building on the efforts of my predecessors, I wish to expand OU Daily’s collaboration with Gaylord College through the Washington, D.C., reporting program. By combining the incredible resources Gaylord College has in D.C. with the intentional guidance from Daily editors, I see so much potential for staffers to grow through this opportunity,” Fathepure said.

Fathepure hopes to continue efforts in multimedia reporting, including short-form video content.

“I also want to invest more into multimedia opportunities. We have seen great success in our short-form video content, particularly across social media,” Fathepure said. “I want to encourage our video experts in the room to train and teach younger staffers so they can gain new skills and creatively experiment with different mediums of storytelling.”

Fathepure has previously served as a junior news reporter, senior news reporter and assistant news managing editor at OU Daily. In the summer of 2023, she interned at The Oklahoman as a reporter. Last summer, Fathepure interned as a reporter at KOSU, NPR’s affiliate stationed in Oklahoma City. This summer, Fathepure will intern at the Houston Chronicle as a reporter.

Lewis is a sophomore public relations major. As marketing manager, Lewis hopes to expand efforts in the Daily’s sponsored content and continue strengthening relationships with campus and the community.

“I’m looking forward to building connections with the surrounding community and collaborating with local businesses and campus departments to develop sponsored content,” Lewis said. “I hope for the marketing division to expand and grow our audience through new clients and creative opportunities.”

Lewis first joined OU Daily as a freshman in January 2024 as a news reporter, wanting to get more involved on campus and in her then-major. Lewis worked as a junior news reporter last fall before joining the advertising department in January where she serves as a creative services writer.

Outside of OU Daily, Lewis is a tutor at Grade Potential Tutoring and is a member of Alpha Gamma Delta.

Carroll is a junior studying accounting and management information systems. She first joined OU Daily’s advertising and marketing team in April 2024 and began her work in August 2024.

“I chose OU Daily Advertising and Marketing because I had the chance to express my love and passion for advertising and marketing while still working towards my (accounting and management information systems) degree,” Carroll said. “I also have always enjoyed talking to people so there is no better way than talking to a customer and making a sale at the same time.”

Carroll is involved in several on-campus groups, including accounting organization Beta Alpha Psi, business fraternity Delta Sigma Pi, the Management Information Systems Student Association, Women in Business and the Alpha Lambda Delta honors society.

Among her goals for next year, Carroll aims to continue achieving team expectations, growing OU Daily’s advertising team and making a lasting impact as sales director. Carroll hopes that, as a team, business staffers will be able to expand OU Daily’s reach and achieve “ground-breaking” sales.

OU Daily will vote on and announce its summer editor-in-chief in April. Fathepure, Lewis and Carroll will start serving in their positions in August.
