Android 15 (One UI 7) update: Which Galaxy phones will get it

Google kickstarted the Android 15 conversation on February 17 by releasing the first developer preview of the next version of the operating system, and users of Samsung Galaxy smartphones and tablets have unsurprisingly begun to wonder if their devices will get Android 15.

Google will take until July to finish work on Android 15, and Samsung will take a couple of months more to mix it with the next version of One UI (One UI 7), so owners of Galaxy devices have a considerable wait in store before they can take the new software for a spin.

But do they have to wait long to find out if their device will be eligible for Android 15? The official list of supported devices will not be out until after Android 15 and One UI 7 have been released for at least one Galaxy smartphone, but as always, we can depend on knowledge of previous major Android and One UI updates to create an unofficial list.

Samsung Galaxy devices eligible for Android 15 (One UI 7)

Galaxy S series

Galaxy Z series

Galaxy A series

Galaxy Tab series

Galaxy F series

Galaxy M series

How did we choose the devices on the list above? There are multiple factors at play here. First off, any Galaxy device that launched running Android 13 will get version 15, as Samsung provides at least two major OS upgrades to virtually every Android phone or tablet.

Flagships and mid-range phones that are eligible for four years of OS upgrades will also get Android 15, as all devices in Samsung’s four year update policy launched running Android 11 or higher. Naturally, all Galaxy phones and tablets that launch in 2024 will get Android 15 as well.

The list above is not final by any means and will not be final until at least August or September if Samsung sticks to its usual schedule for major Android and One UI updates. We’ll keep adding more information to this article as time goes by, so be sure to bookmark this page and check back from time to time in the coming months.
